The 2020 Virtual Forum is hosted by the Earth System Governance Project, its organizational efforts led by the International Project Office, based at the Faculty of Geosciences, University of Utrecht, the Netherlands. The 2020 Virtual Forum on Earth System Governance builds upon a long tradition of global annual events on earth system governance, from Amsterdam (2007 and 2009) to Colorado (2011), Lund (2012), Tokyo (2013), Norwich (2014), Canberra (2015), Nairobi (2016), Lund (2017), Utrecht (2018) and Mexico (2019).

The 2020 Virtual Forum will be co-hosted with several partners of the Earth System Governance network, with announcements of these partnerships to follow.
