NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information 1991-2020 Climate Normals Webinar

June 8, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

NCEI invites you to participate in a webinar focused on the new 1991-2020 U.S. Climate Normals. Climate Normals represent a reference period for monitoring current weather and climate, and describe the expected climate at a location over the seasons. They provide a basis for determining whether today’s weather is warmer or colder, wetter or drier than normal. They also can be used to plan for conditions beyond the time span of reliable weather forecasts.

The 1991-2020 U.S. Climate Normals were released on May 4, 2021. Climate Normals are updated every ten years, consistent with guidance from the World Meteorological Organization. This new release of the Climate Normals was designed to meet the needs of the stakeholder community, gathered through numerous engagements, and represent updated procedures and software.
