Palisade Pedal – Ag Bike Tour

Join for a bike tour around Palisade to learn more about local agriculture and water resources in Colorado!
About this Event
Show up around 7:30AM. We will leave promptly at 8:00AM.
Begin and end the tour at Rapid Creek Cycles.
There will be door prizes for attendees that include 20lbs of ground beef from VanWinkle Ranch!
We will be biking along the Colorado River and canals around Palisade, stopping at local farms, talking with farmers and ranchers, and learning about ditches and their operations. We will get to see:
-Fruit and vegetable operation with Brant Harrison, Kokopelli Produce
-Vineyard with Kaibab Sauvage, Sauvage Specturm Colorado Wine
-Ditch opertaions with Max Schmidt, Manager of the Orchard Mesa Irrigation Ditch
-The history of canals in the area with Priscilla Walker, Palisade Historical Society
-Forage and Beef in Mesa County with Janie VanWinkle, Rancher and Current Colorado Cattlmens Association President
Our last stop will be at Sauvage Spectrum, where we will have lunch from Handlebar Taphouse, which will include local beef (There will also be a vegetarian option).
There will be aid stations throughout the course provide water and food.
