Webinar: Two New Drought Tools and Outlook (North Central U.S.)

May 11, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

This webinar highlights two newer drought tools that may be useful to you.  The first is called “Grass-Cast” and is focused on range and pasture lands and providing an outlook on conditions ( https://grasscast.unl.edu/).  Dannele Peck (USDA Northern Plains Ag. Climate Hub) will provide an overview of the tool.

The second new tool is “Groundwater and Soil Moisture Conditions from GRACE-FO Data Assimilation for the Contiguous U.S. and Global Land”.  https://nasagrace.unl.edu/Default.aspx

This satellite derived information not only shows current conditions but has a forecast component as well (U.S. only).  Matthew Rodell (NASA) will provide the briefing.

The final segment will include a current state of drought across the North-Central U.S. region.  Becky Bolinger, state of Colorado Climate Office) will provide the presentation.
