Dr. Falkowski is an ecosystem scientist specializing in the use of remotely sensed data to gain a better understanding of the Earth system. Over the last 20 years Michael has worked with a variety of governmental agencies and non-governmental organizations to solve applied problems in natural resource conservation and management, primarily through the analysis of remotely sensed and other geospatial data. Dr. Falkowski received a B.S. degree in geography and geology from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point in 2000, and a M.S. degree in forestry and a Ph.D. degree in natural resources from the University of Idaho, Moscow, in 2005 and 2008, respectively.
