Mobile Home Park Water
Quality and Access
Working to help protect clean and safe water in Colorado’s mobile home parks.

Partnering to protect
The Colorado Water Center is working to help protect clean and safe water in Colorado’s mobile home parks. Water quality and quantity are concerns in these communities, with frequent boil water notices, water shutoffs, and extra costs for buying bottled water.
The Water Center has partnered with the local Fort Collins organization Mi Voz to advance water quality, quantity, and access work in Larimer County Mobile Home Communities.
Clean water for our neighbors
Mobile home parks in Fort Collins face ongoing water outages, boil notices, and widespread uncertainty about the safety of drinking water. These challenges, which impact the health and wellbeing of entire communities, have been a growing focus for the Colorado Water Center. Since 2023, the Colorado Water Center has worked alongside mobile home park communities to address these concerns and identify both short and long-term solutions. Through this collaborative work, providing household water filters was identified as an immediate, short-term need to protect residents’ health and improve daily life.

Filters for a secure water future
The Colorado Water Center is raising funds to purchase water filters for 903 local families. With help from Leadership Fort Collins and other partners, the 2025 Earth Day event, Clean Water for Our Neighbors (see below), raised over $8,300. With a fundraising goal of $90,000, all contributions are welcome to support the health and well-being of our community members.
Clean water is a right—not a privilege. With continued community support, we can ensure all of our neighbors have access to clean, safe water—now and in the future. Please contact Jessica Thrasher at jessica.thrasher@colostate.edu for more information.
