South Metro Denver Water Tour

Curious about where water in South Denver comes from and how it’s managed? Join a day-long bus tour to get a behind-the-scenes look at the history and operation of Rueter-Hess and Chatfield reservoirs and the waterwise landscape and agricultural practices at Sterling Ranch and Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms. Lunch and happy hour included. BYO(Bottle) for water!

Itinerary

-9-9:30: Participants arrive at Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms, 8500 W. Deer Creek Canyon Road, Littleton. Free parking.

-9:30: Bus departs for Sterling Ranch

-10:00: Tour of Sterling Ranch

-10:45: Bus departs for Rueter-Hess Reservoir

-11:30: Tour of Rueter-Hess Reservoir

-12:15: Box lunch and presentations at Rueter-Hess Reservoir

-1:15: Bus departs for Chatfield State Park, Reservoir

-2: Tour of Chatfield State Park and Reservoir

-3: Bus departs for Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms

-3:15: Tour of Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms

-4: Happy hour

This event is organized by the One World One Water Center (OWOW), a collaboration of Metropolitan State University of Denver and Denver Botanic Gardens. We thank Water Education Colorado and Water ’22 for support and inclusion in their year-long celebration of water in Colorado.
