HydroML Symposium

May 18, 2022 - May 20, 2022

** Click HERE to register for the event **

This NSF-funded symposium emphasizes building a community that has common goals and shared resources. It will attempt to demystify machine learning (ML) for those new to the field, build up machine learning expertise, encourage collaboration among those already involved, and build a ML community and organization for all participants. We encourage newcomers to ML, especially those from backgrounds which are underrepresented in hydrology!

This event will be following a mixed format, with in-person and virtual components.

Abstract Submission

Abstract submission is not required for registration. It is a separate form, and can be found here (https://bit.ly/hydroml-abstract).

Abstract review will begin on 3/1, and submission will close on 3/11. Applicants will be notified of our decisions by 3/25. Some lightning talks will be invited to provide longer talks. Poster submission only will be considered until 5/1.

Travel Support

Travel grants are available to junior members (graduate and undergraduate students, post-doctoral researchers, and individuals within 5 years from their terminal degree). Applications are strongly encouraged from individuals representing minority groups (in terms of gender, race, educational experience, and economic background) and funding will be allocated accordingly. Travel grant support will waive registration and provide a travel stipend of ~$500 (final amount per committee consideration)

The travel grant application is separate from registration, and can be found here (https://bit.ly/hydroml-travelgrant).

Travel grant review will begin on 3/1, and submission will fully close on 3/11. Applicants will be notified of our decisions by 3/25.
