Biography

Dr. Wei Gao is a Professor of Department of Ecosystem Science and Sustainability; Senior Research Scientist and Director of the USDA UV-B Monitoring and Research Program, Natural Resource Ecology Laboratory at Colorado State University; and Director of ColoradoView, part of AmericaView, a nationwide consortium for Remote Sensing Education, Research and Geospatial Applications. He received his B.S. from Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, M.S. from Mississippi State University, Ph.D. from Purdue University and had his postdoctoral training at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado. Dr. Gao has published more than 200 scientific papers and edited 21 books, proceedings, and journal issues. He is a Fellow of the International Optical Engineering Society. Dr. Gao received the Lifetime Distinguished International Service Award for his work at Colorado State University.
