Biography

Dr. Ramsdell is an environmental toxicologist with a strong interest in exposure assessment. Dr. Ramsdell's research projects have included field and laboratory studies of wildlife species (fish, mammals, birds, frogs) and humans potentially exposed to toxic environmental contaminants. He is interested in the use of planaria (an invertebrate flatworm) as a model for aquatic toxicology studies. Dr. Ramsdell has been involved in investigation of the exposure of livestock to naturally occurring contaminants that originate in ground water but that also appear to have an important pathway through forage consumption. Dr. Ramsdell earned a B.A. in Chemistry from Pomona College and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Biophysics from Oregon State University.
